Job Description:

• Promote and enforce occupational health and safety policies to foster safer workplace conditions.
  Facilitate risk assessments for routine and non-routine activities within assigned areas.
  Conduct safety inspections and audits on equipment and workplaces to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  Collaborate with supervisors and other professionals to maintain safe work environments.
  Enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in line with regulations.
  Ensure personnel comply with legislation concerning duty of care, workplace activities, and use of plant, equipment, and substances.
  Record and report workplace injuries and occupational illnesses promptly.
  Lead investigations into accidents and unsafe conditions, analyze causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  Conduct health and safety training sessions for supervisors and workers.
  Support emergency procedure coordination and enforcement.
  Communicate regularly with management on occupational health and safety program status.
  Implement occupational health and safety systems including policies and manuals.
  Facilitate Field Safety Leadership (FSL) within designated areas.
  Participate actively in Health, Safety & Environment Committee meetings as a resource.

Qualification/Work Experience:

• Grade 12 Certificate.
  Diploma in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment or equivalent qualification.
  Minimum of 2 years practical experience in a similar role, preferably within the mining industry.
  Familiarity with ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management standards.
  Valid unrestricted Zambian Blasting Licence applicable to mining operations.
  Membership in the Zambia Occupational Health and Safety Association (ZOHSA).
  All academic qualifications must be certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority.
  Demonstrated ability to work independently, with strong results orientation and adherence to company policies and corporate objectives.
