A DNA report presented before the Lusaka Magistrates’
Court has revealed that a Zambia Air Force (ZAF) flight sergeant, accused of
defiling and impregnating his 14-year-old daughter, is not the biological
father of the child at the centre of the case.
State forensic analyst Innocent Makasa testified that DNA
analysis conducted on samples from the accused, the complainant, and the child
established that the accused is not the biological father.
Dr. Makasa clarified, however, that the findings were
limited to determining biological parentage and could not conclude whether
sexual intercourse had occurred, noting that not every act of sexual
intercourse results in pregnancy.
During trial, the accused denied defiling his daughter,
claiming he was implicated by dependents and alleging that his daughter had
previously been found engaging in sexual activity with her cousin.
The accused has pleaded not guilty and remains in
custody. Judgment has been set for 8 July 2026.
