GOV’T STARTS RECRUITMENT FOR 2,000 HEALTH WORKERS

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has launched the recruitment process for 2,000 health workers, following the swearing‑in of the Steering Committee in Lusaka today.

CSC Acting Chairperson Louis Siandyabantu said the move reflects Government’s continued commitment to strengthening the health workforce, noting that 18,000 health workers have been recruited over the past four years to address staffing gaps across the country.

Mr. Siandyabantu explained that the 2025 recruitment will be conducted in two phases Promotion of in‑service officers First appointments for new entrants

He said the process will be guided by Human Resource Management Committees at provincial and district levels to ensure transparency, inclusivity and fairness.

The Acting Chairperson urged the Steering Committee to uphold the highest standards of integrity, impartiality and objectivity, stressing that recruitment must be based on merit, equity and professionalism.

He also appealed to candidates and the general public to guard against misinformation and report any suspicious activities to relevant authorities.

Mr. Siandyabantu reaffirmed that the recruitment exercise is aligned with President Hakainde Hichilema’s vision of an inclusive public service.

He reminded the Committee that 10 percent of all positions are reserved for persons with disabilities, ensuring equal access to employment opportunities within the health sector.
