Inspector General of Police Graphael Musamba has elevated 215
TAZARA Division officers to higher ranks ranging from Sergeant to Chief
Inspector, in recognition of their dedication and distinguished service to the
nation.
The promotions come as Zambia heads to the polls, with the
IG stressing the importance of impartiality and professionalism in policing
during the election period.
In a speech read on his behalf by TAZARA Division Commanding
Officer Chomba Chaongopa, Musamba described the promotions as both a
recognition of merit and a call to greater responsibility.
“The elevated officers must continue serving with
professionalism, integrity, discipline and accountability while faithfully
executing their duties in line with the values and mandate of the Zambia Police
Service,” Musamba said.
He reminded the officers to remain impartial, uphold the
rule of law, and serve all citizens without fear or favour.
Chaongopa encouraged the officers to remain steadfast in
safeguarding peace, maintaining public order, and providing professional
policing services. He also urged those not promoted to remain committed,
disciplined, and hardworking, assuring them that future opportunities for
career progression would arise based on merit and performance.
