The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has
appointed Presidential Advisor for Finance and Investment, Jito Kayumba,
to its Commercial and Marketing Advisory Committee, a move expected to
strengthen FAZ’s financial position and broaden revenue streams.
Kayumba joins a diverse team of professionals, including ABSA
Bank CEO Mizinga Melu, Lusaka lawyers Lewis Mosho and Milingo
Lungu, policy expert Solomon Ngoma, futsal expert and businessman Tehrak
Mehta, and corporate communications specialist Katongo Chilufya.
Other members include Bridget Kambobe (marketing and
communications expert), Lee Chimbalanga (Kafue Celtic FC proprietor),
Marcus Ascott (Lusaka businessman), Moses Mubanga (football
administrator and construction industry expert), Brian Siatubi (Konkola
Copper Mines Head of Corporate Affairs), Webster Malido (journalist and
IBA CEO), and Eugene Phiri (marketing and communications expert).
FAZ Head of Media and Communications Nkweto Tembwe
said the committee, constituted under Article 50 of the FAZ Constitution,
will serve for 24 months and play a key role in dismantling legacy
debts, identifying sustainable revenue opportunities, and bridging financing
gaps.
“The committee has been constituted following a resolution
of the FAZ Executive Committee and is aligned with FAZ’s strategic objective of
enhancing commercial sustainability and promoting investments,” Tembwe stated.
Established as an ad hoc body in line with FIFA
provisions, the committee will focus on sponsorship, investments, and
marketing initiatives to ensure the long-term growth of football in Zambia.
