Huawei Technologies Zambia and the Ministry of Technology and Science have reaffirmed their commitment to cultivating Zambia’s next generation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) leaders through the Seeds for the Future programme. Five outstanding students from various Zambian universities departed for China on July 19, 2025, to participate in a week-long immersive training and cultural exchange, gaining exposure to cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Cloud Computing2. Huawei’s longest-running CSR initiative, launched in 2008, introduced to Zambia in 2015, Over 100 Zambian students have participated to date, Global reach: 12,000+ students from 137+ countries, in partnership with 500+ universities and focus on technical training, leadership development, and cross-cultural collaboration Dr. Brilliant Habeenzu, Permanent Secretary, praised Huawei’s role in human capital development, urging students to bring back innovative solutions for agriculture, mining, and national transformation Huawei PR Manager Louis Mwape, emphasized the programme’s alignment with Zambia’s Vision 2030 and the need to equip youth with modern ICT skills A student participant Samukhele Ngoma, pledged to represent Zambia with excellence and purpose, calling the opportunity “life-changing”
