The Ministry of Labour and Social Security has imposed a K40,000 penalty
on Platinum Courier Services in Kabwe for failing to issue contracts of
employment and operating without essential workplace policies, in violation of
the Employment Code Act No. 3 of 2019.
The enforcement action follows routine inspections aimed at promoting compliance
with labour standards, particularly in the private sector.
The Ministry cited the company’s failure to provide: Written employment
contracts for staff, Grievance procedures and codes of conduct and Health and
wellness policies, as required under Section 95(1) of the Act
Under Section 133 and 135 of the Employment Code, employers found in breach may face administrative sanctions, including financial penalties, business suspension, or formal reprimands.
