Lusaka Mayor Chilando Chitangala has emphasized the critical role of multi-sectoral partnerships in achieving universal health coverage, stating that the responsibility for public health cannot rest solely on government shoulders. Speaking during a donation handover ceremony by Ik Charity Trust benefiting eight hospitals in Lusaka, the mayor praised the organization’s consistent support for vulnerable communities and called for more collaborative efforts to address Zambia’s growing disease burden. “Part of my role as mayor is to forge partnerships that tackle our most pressing health challenges. the health of our people is a shared responsibility,” she said. Ik charity trust donated wheelchairs and patient monitors, laser machines and hygiene supplies and food hampers for hospital patients. Permanent Secretary for Technical Services Dr Kennedy Lishimpi, announced plans to roll out specialized services across major health facilities Ik Charity Trust operations manager Dr. Mohammed Bilal Mansuri, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to serving the vulnerable and supporting hospital systems
