The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has officially named Moses Sichone as the new head coach of the Zambia national football team, Chipolopolo, ushering in a dynamic era of leadership rooted in local talent and international experience.

Sichone, a former Chipolopolo stalwart and longtime assistant to Avram Grant, will lead a technical bench composed of celebrated Zambian football figures:

The Full Technical Bench Moses Sichone – Head Coach Andrew Sinkala – Assistant Coach, UEFA B Plus Licence holder, currently coaching in Germany, Perry Mutapa – Assistant Coach, head coach of Green Eagles FC, Kennedy Mweene – Goalkeeper Coach, 2012 AFCON winner, currently with Mamelodi Sundowns, Noel Mwandila – Strikers’ Coach and Joseph Musonda – Fitness Coach, Chipolopolo legend

FAZ General Secretary Machacha Shepande described the appointments as a new chapter for Chipolopolo, emphasizing the team’s blend of youthful energy and seasoned expertise.

“FAZ opted to install confidence in local resources with great international exposure,” Shepande said. “Their transition to coaching has been admirable and under our watch over the years.”

Sinkala and Mutapa, who rose to prominence at the 1999 FIFA U-20 World Cup, bring a shared legacy and tactical synergy to the bench. Sinkala’s Bundesliga pedigree and coaching experience in Germany add a strategic edge, while Mutapa continues to shape domestic football through Green Eagles.

The newly assembled team will debut during the FIFA international window on 15 and 18 November, with Zambia set to face South Africa and Burundi.
