A deeply troubling incident has unfolded in Kitwe, where 39-year-old Yango driver Edward Mushota was found dead in his company vehicle near the railway line in the town centre. Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer Pathias Siandenge confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding Mushota’s death. Mr Siandenge said that Mushota took his own life by ingesting a poisonous substance, shortly after allegedly assaulting his wife during a domestic dispute. “Mushota reportedly returned home on Saturday, 16:00 and assaulted his wife following a misunderstanding and then his daughter received a call at 18:00 from an unknown individual stating Mushota had purchased insecticide” he said.
